Cricket Android App

The idea of developing this app was to create an experience for the user that is optimum. Today there are several cricket apps out there in the market but each app has some or the other features missing. This app is supposed to be one-stop-shop for all cricket related stuff covering all the possible aspects.

Design Approach

Before setting about designing the app I referred to Google's new material design guidelines to ensure the app follows the design principles. At the same time it should be in sync with Sportacular app from Yahoo in terms of dark theme as that's the standard preset.

Match Tile – No. of the match tiles in the home screen – all live matches, last three completed matches to the left and next three upcoming matches to the right. The match tile will be anchored to the live match with most recent start. In case there are no live matches, it will be anchored to the latest completed match. Any match tile can be manually refreshed by pulling.

Blue strip – shows the most important information which is rotating such as Toss information, Reviews remaining, Overs left in the day, Current run rate of the innings etc.

Match Summary – Overview of the match tile, batsmen on the crease and commentary view up to 3 overs.

Full Scorecard – The caret next to batsman's name shows the additional information as to how the batsman got out. Clicking on the batman's name or thumb will take the user to player page.

Commentary – If the ball icon is clicked in any over, the commentary will scroll up/ down to that point.

All Series and Matches – Chronologically, if the series involves India, the app will promote those series to the top and similarly for other countries too.

Headers and action shots for other teams in their team colors.

Side Nav (Cuttlefish) – Favorite Team(s) shows suggested teams based on the location of the user. User can add more teams from the list below. 'Done' button saves the teams selected by the user.

The objective of creating the Tumblr themes was to offer variety of features built within Tumblr platform based on the package client will pick. The basic package aka 'Level 1' will have just the article page. The 'Level 2' will have listing page as well as article detail. In the 'Level 3' client will have the utility to customize the design by changing the font face, color, size and background image etc.

Level 3 theme will further have three distinct navigation styles. 1st level will have vertical navigation style. 2nd level will have horizontal navigation style and 3rd level will have horizontal iconic navigation style.

Here are other two themes of 'Level 3'.
