The Big 50 {Porsche}

This site was designed to celebrate the 50 years. It could be famous stars who had completed their 50 years, the Porsche engine, some richest people who had won an important award 50 years ago etc. The whole idea was to celebrate the achievements where Porsche had taken that initiative to congratulate those people for their memorable achievements.

Design Approach

I created a conceptual theme with a Porsche car in the page background as it's known for its speed and luxurious cars. The information was surface as image-based tiles – A pictures speak a thousand words. Since, people tend to get enticed about the images more than the text. I decided to go with visuals than text.

Color Theory

Red color attracts attention and survey shows it is the color most frequently associated with proximity and extroverts. It also signifies dynamism and activity.

Black is associated with boldness, elegance, sophistication and stability. In color psychology, black means power and control. Black also panned out with the theme which was nostalgia.

Soccer World Cup 2014

The site would do the entire coverage of entire Soccer World Cup 2014. It covered all the important information about the event, live/ post/ pre matches, players etc. The objective was not only to make a site that just provides information which other sites were doing as well but also come up with something more interesting in terms of how that information will be consumed by the football fans across the globe.

Design Approach

I thought it would be nice if the basic/ standard information such as events in the match, scores etc. could be displayed in the form of infographics. That will be interesting and intrigue the users. Also, the modules like stats and comparisons comprised nice infographics.

For example I went with the concept of a timeline for commentary module. It's a kind of horizontal scroll bar that lets the user go back and forth to consume the match information at different instances in a particular game.

Color Theory

White color was the first pick as it is clean and black text against white is perfect for legibility and easy to read. Since there was going to be a lot of information to be consumed on the site it made all the more sense to choose white over dark colors to prevent readability issues per say.

Modules

Player profiles – It contains the most specific stats about the player. It works well in all the scenarios as the info is compact and easy to consume at a glance along with the player photo.

Timeline – It lets the user to drag the slider back and forth to see what happened at the particular time in the match. The commentary below comprises the player cards and other infographics to attract the attention of the user at desired event.

Game Stats – One of the most important sections of the site this is. It shows the quick comparison between the two teams with the help of pie charts and bars.

Starting Line-ups – This module shows the team's line-up before and during the match. The small circles show player card when moused over. In addition to that events such goals and fouls are shown as small icons beside player name. It also provides Substitution information below it in table format.

Action Areas – It shows how each team was stronger or spent most time in different areas on the field.

Heat Map – It shows the frequency of events spread in a given particular area. In other words, which areas are being used more by the players, are there areas which are being overused or undeused.

Key Events – All the vital events like Goals, Shots, Assists etc. are shown graphically which serves an easy way to consume desired information to the user.

World Cup Stats – This module shows the entire stats of all the teams together being split up into different heads. Show all links expand more information which is not shown to the user in first place to avoid too much of information as a result which becomes overwhelming.

Design Approach

I designed a smart experience which was far more different and unique than any standard website. I created the whole site into a mobile phone they were promoting. Style Factor

This site was designed for Pantene providing information about fashion, hair, beauty etc. Users would get the tips/ how-to on fashion. The site also offers episodes of known celebrities talking about fashion at the interviews. The brief mentioned about the white color to be the main color of the site.

Design Approach

I went about creating a distinct design element for the page background which was chick, trendy, spiffy etc. The motif perceived different feminine colors and was abstract in nature. It was more like the paper from top was dipped into a fine palate of colors and taken out that left different colors to submerge and spread out. It went well with the brand concept.

Color Theory

Magenta represents universal love at its highest level. It is also an inspiring color which can appear innovative and imaginative.

Pink is a color usually used in businesses relating to the female market such as cosmetics, fashion, beauty and romance. Combining it with darker colors gave it more sophistication and strength.

Purple heightens people's sense of beauty. It also works well with Magenta and creates a unique contemporary look.

I focused on the fact that all the important information gets covered as it was a one pager. Hence, along with the article content, the Photo Slideshow was embedded and Videos section to boot on the right hand rail.
